Edith Lauer, 97, of Denver, North Carolina passed away March 11, 2016. She was born to the late John and Hazel Bruce in 1918 in Sanilac, Michigan. She was married to the late Edsel Lauer for 67 years and lived in Michigan, Florida and North Carolina. “Edie” was a wonderful cook, seamstress, gardener, golfer, bowler and loved to dance with Ed.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Bonnie of San Luis Obispo, California and three grandchildren: Dawn Anderson (Warren) of Denver, NC, Shawn Lauer (Brenda) of Bessemer City, NC, and Heidi Huffman (Scott) of Cherryville, NC. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed and son, Bruce.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank-you and our deepest gratitude to Mary and Peter Fedur whose loving care made her last two years happy ones.
Our much loved “Mom” and “Nana” will be dearly missed and her memory and her strength will be carried in our hearts forever.
