David Frank Duncan, age 55, of Vale, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Atrium Health Mercy.
David was born August 4, 1966, in Catawba County, to Frank Lawrence Duncan and Peggy Faulkner Duncan. He worked as the owner of Duncan’s Auto Repair in Lincolnton. David was a friend to all, the kind of man who would give a complete stranger the shirt off of his back. His smile and laughter was contagious, one of his most memorable qualities.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons Justin Shane Duncan of Cherryville, Tyler Cole Duncan and wife Amanda Duncan of Lincolnton; daughter Rachel Elaine Duncan of Vale; parents Peggy Faulkner Duncan and Frank Lawrence Duncan; sisters Dana Mayes and Denise Houser; many nieces and nephews, and a grandson on the way.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Highland Drive Free Will Baptist Church in Lincolnton, with Pastor Luke Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Good Samaritan Funeral Home of Denver, N.C. is serving the Duncan Family.

Had David do some work for me several times and just a few months back, and he did a great job. He will be missed by many that used his automotive shop. Great fellow to talk to also. Prayers for all.
Frank and Peggy and all the family, I am so sorry to hear this. I pray that God will give you the Peace and Comfort that you need during this time of loss. We love you and will continue to pray for you in the coming days. I just can imagine how you feel but know my heart is broken for you.
I am so very sad to hear about David’s death. He was a great friend, getting even better. I could write a book about this man’s integrity, humor, and love. He was, of course, no one’s fool, and one did VERY well to stay on his good side. But then, the only way to be on his bad side was to be a bad person! May he rest in peace and rise in Glory! I will be so glad to see him on the Celestial Shore.
