After a courageous and valiant fight against cancer, Brian Lee Roosa, 49, of Jefferson, MD,
passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, where he was surrounded by his loved ones. His
strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew him. Born April 29, 1975, in Groton,
Connecticut, he was the beloved son of Charlotte Marie Roosa and late Roger Keith Roosa.
He was the loving father to his three sons, Riley, Trystan, and Teagan to whom he devoted all
his time. He was there for every milestone in their life and was so proud to watch all three of
them attend college together at Appalachian State University.
Brian was a Parks Maintenance Technician for the City of Frederick and the Shop Manager at
Airport View Signs. He was known for his sense of humor, huge smile, and strong work ethic.
He worked alongside some of his best friends, which brought him great amounts of joy. He was
a graduate of Brunswick HS class of 1993 where he then furthered his education at Michigan
State University earning a degree in Dairy Science. Following college, he spent time in
California working at Tollcrest Dairy before returning to Maryland where he started his family.
His hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors
as he spent lots of time fishing, hunting, and riding “the rig” around OCS Dairy. He was a
dedicated member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his three children, Riley Ashton Roosa, Trystan Reese Roosa and Teagan
Rex Roosa, mother of his children, Misty Roosa, NC; sister, Laura Ricketts, MD, brother, Roger
Keith Roosa Jr., WI; and several other family members including, Tommy Austin, MD; Susan
Diamanti, HI; Jeff Austin, MD; Eric Austin, CA; Pam Grabowski, MD; Barb LeRoy, MI; John
LeRoy, MI; Karen Sampsell, GA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-
in-law, nephews, a niece, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marie Miller, grandparents, Jack and Dottie
Roosa and close friend and mentor, Clayton Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Brian’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
