Anarah Sharpe Furr Howard, 100 years old, of Stanley passed away on March 7, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1924 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Logan I. Sharpe and Verla Mae Earnhardt.
Anarah grew up in Pineville, NC. She graduated from Berry Hill High School. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Pineville, NC where she served as the pianist and Youth Choir Leader in her younger days. She worked as an administrative assistant for Scott Drug Company in Charlotte, NC. She later moved to Stanley for the last part of her life.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Mr. Louis Furr, her second husband Mr. James Howard; her son Franklin Furr; her sisters Betty Sharpe Shapiro and Martha Ann Hurst.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter in law Marsha Furr; grandchildren Jimmy Furr, Nikki Anarah Furr, Luke Furr, and Angelique Furr; her great grandchild Logan Furr; her sisters Mary Katherine Bell of Charlotte, NC and Mickey Sharpe McCallum of Beaufort, SC; and many other loved nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024at 2:00PM at Pineville City Cemetery in Pineville, NC.
My Aunt Anarah was a very special woman whom I loved. She will be missed but I know she is where she wants to be. Rest in Peace Aunt Anarah.
