Carolyn Anne Fischer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Anne Fischer of Denver, NC. She died peacefully at the Carolina Caring Hospice House in Newton, NC on September 28, 2024 at the age of 82. She fought a 24 year long battle with Parkinson’s disease. 

Carol is survived by her husband, Bill Fischer of Denver, NC, her daughter, Shelly Hinson (Danny Hinson) of Mount Holly, NC and her son, Scott Fischer of Denver, NC. Her granddaughters, Haleigh Bass (Jayce Bass) and Alyssa Grindstaff, both of Mount Holly, NC. Her brother, Ted Tosti and sister in law, Linda Tosti reside in Kissimmee, Florida. 

She was preceded in death by her parents,Ted and Evelyn Tosti.

Carol was raised in Hamilton Township in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Hamilton High West in 1960. She became a stenographer and secretary for the US Government at McGuire AFB, NJ, where she met her husband, Bill. Other employment included working for Lamar University in Beaumont, Tx, Belk Store Services in Charlotte, NC and in Greenville, SC. Her last job was with Mast General Store in Greenville.  She loved her work and most importantly loved being a sweet and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Carol and Bill were married 57 years. Nothing lit her up more than being with family. She was always there to support, lend an ear and most of all love us all. 

Family and friends are invited to Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC  on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 9:00am to reminisce and support each other. Visitation will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am. We will have a private burial at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC at a later date.

    My sincere condolences to Carol’s family and friends. As you celebrate Carol’s life that she shared with each of you, I hope you will each remember that she will always be in your heart! May God bless each of you with the strength to endure your sad loss and remember only the happy times.

    My thoughts and prayers are with the Fischer family i enjoyed visiting her in 3 cherry way
