Douglas (Doug) Charles Letson, 69, passed away on October 5, 2024. Born of February 6, 1955, he was the son of Mrs. Donna Byrd who survives him and the late Robert Charles Letson.
Doug grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. He graduated from Spence-Van Etten High School, Spencer New York. Doug was the Captain of the Varsity Football Team. He went undefeated in Wrestling and was a member of the National Honor Society. He received a scholarship from Buffalo State University for Wrestling.
Doug had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He shared his love of knowledge with his daughters and grandkids.
His ultimate love was racing. He and his brother, Bobby, grew up at the racetrack and followed in his dad’s footsteps. He raced all over Upstate New York. In 1990, he moved to Iron Station, North Carolina and continued his love for Dirt Track Racing with his father, Bob Letson.
Besides his mother, Doug is survived by his wife of 38 years Becky Letson; daughters Heather Letson-Dzikiewicz (Michael) and Jennifer Parks (Brian); grandchildren Dylan Belles (Megan), Alex Dzikiewicz (Emily), Haylie Parks Ohmer (Bryce) and Marie Dzikiewicz (Tyler); great grandkids June Ohmer and Brooks Dzikiewicz; sisters Cilly Searles (Wayne) and Tina Wicker; brother Bobby Letson (Sandra) and of course his side kick, Teddy and his sister, Missi.
Doug will be greatly missed
A Celebration of Doug’s Life will take place in March of 2025. Details will be announced at a later date. The Good Samaritan Funeral Home of Denver served the Letson Family
