Ernest A Bogdahn, 91, of Denver, NC, born in Newark, NJ, April 4, 1930, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and August Bogdahn, and his brother-in-law, Paul Huston. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan (Transue) Bogdahn, his brother Frank (Lynda) and their sons Kip and Eric, Sister-in-law Sandra (Transue) Huston her son Scott, and Brother-in-law Ralph (Kathy) Transue, their children John and Jenny. He had a large family with many cousins, nieces and nephews, including one devoted local nephew John Horbelt.
A graduate of Seton Hall University he served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1961. His career included engagements as an expert on manufacturing processes. He was an excellent craftsman in wood and an avid tennis player.
He touched many lives with his sense of humor, willingness to help others and his good nature. He will be missed by all those who knew him. A celebration of Ernie’s life will be held at a later date.
