James Alexander Poulos

James Alexander Poulos, (Jim or Jimmy to family and friends) passed away peacefully at his home in Iron Station. NC. on September 9, 2024 in the loving care of his partner of 28 years, Lisa Roberts.

Jim was born on August 28, 1950, in Miami, Florida. He played football at Miami High School. He was a Congressional Page in Washington, DC for the Democratic Party. He graduated from Florida State University with a BS Degree in Philosophy.

Jim was a loving father and grandfather and a man of many interests and talents. He worked as an electrician and handyman. He owned and operated the successful Food Service Business, “Gourmet Dog”.

He was a musician and received such great joy playing the guitar and singing with the Unity of Charlotte Church Band. He was an author (Miami Confidential”) and painter. He selflessly helped many people in need by feeding the homeless and donating his time making many emergency repairs to people’s homes and cars.

Jim loved and was dearly loved. May he now rest in the peace of God’s Arms.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents James Alexander Poulos and Venus Athalis Poulos.

He is survived by his daughter, Dimitra Venus Poulos; son Jaron James Poulos; grandson Karlon Jr., sister Georgia Yocum and her husband, Christopher; brothers Mitchell Poulos and Demosthenes Poulos; nephews Christopher Poulos and John Poulos; niece Nichole Seidenthal and her husband, Frank and their children, Sophia and Nickolas and Jim and Lisa’s faithful dog, Bubba
