John F. McAllister, age 82, passed away April 5, 2016.
Mr. McAllister was born May 29, 1933 to the late Horace and Ada Reep McAllister. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Agnes Clark, Helen Langford, Evelyn McAllister and Arzie Lee Stroupe and brothers, Roy and Paul McAllister. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a pipe fitter and at R&D Hosiery.
Survivors include wife of 59 years, Jackie McAllister; son, Jason McAllister and wife Fiona of Sherrills Ford; daughter, Wanda Patton and husband Alex of Lincolnton; brother, Marshall and wife Doris of Vale; sisters, Bert Harbinson and husband Yates of Maiden, Katie Sigmon of Denver, Dorothy Whitesides of Charlotte, Edith McAllister of Lincolnton; grandchildren, David Patton and wife Kayla of Lincolnton, Adam Patton and wife Melissa of Lincolnton, Kyra and Andrea McAllister of Sherrills Ford.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Maiden Wesleyan Church, 1125 Ivey Church Rd. in Maiden with Rev. Bob Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
