Larry Godin

Lincolnton, NC – Larry Godin Sr, formerly of Monmouth, ME, passed away at his home on January 13, 2025. Son of Rose (Paradis) and Norman God born on July 1, 1950, in Fort Kent, Maine.

Larry married the love of his life May B McComb February 20, 1970, in East Long Meadow Massachusetts, starting their young lives out in Enfield, CT where they welcomed 3 children Larry, Angel, and Laura, later settling in Maine where they raised their family.

At an early age Larry found his love of cars working with his dad and siblings at the family Sunoco Station in Enfield, Ct. He continued to build a career out of working within the automobile industry, at first as a mechanic and then on to owning his own used car dealership with his wife May. In his pastime he loved to find deals on old cars and restore them to their original beauty, turning them over to new owners was something he took great pride in.

Larry and his brothers shared a love for drag racing and often could be found at the local track testing out the cars that they had been working on the prior week. Throughout the younger years many family weekends were spent traveling to speedways as a family to watch the boys race. In later years Larry and May would continue to follow that love of racing by spending their weekends in their motor home at the Speedways throughout New England where they met many lifelong friends.

Larry loved to play pool and was very well known for his sharp pool skills, and you could often find him at the local hall.

Larry also had a great love for dogs and over the years had a few “best dog companions” Larry’s greatest joy was his family, he was very proud of his children and the lives that they created and loved welcoming his grandchildren, he truly enjoyed spending time with them and loved to talk about all of their accomplishments.

Larry was predeceased by his mother Rose, father Norman, father-in-law Samual McComb and mother-in-law Doris McComb, infant brother William, younger sisters Judy Vandani and Sandra Falk, infant daughter Angel and his grandson Aaron Clark.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years May Godin, his son Larry wife Jami, his daughter Laura husband Dan, his grandchildren Kyle (Kathryn) Clark, Morgan (Steven) Corio, great-grandson’s Aidan, Karter, Fletcher, Kayden, and great-granddaughter Averie. Brothers Dale, Gary, Donald (Barbara), sisters Diane (Henry) Letalien, Brenda
Bowie, and Bonnie (Jim) Gauthier along with many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Larry in the spring in Maine, date to be announced
