Myrna Loy Mele found peace on Tuesday February 28th. She was 39 years of age, “and holding”. Born to parents Woodrow Wilson Morrow and Ethel Rose Morrow, she earned her Masters degree and specialized in Psychiatric care as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She dedicated her career to helping others for over 25 years.
Myrna enjoyed life – painting, dancing, poetry, writing, travelling, spirituality, softball games, and celebrating Christmas (!). She loved her family and adored her grandchildren, and we all loved her right back. Her husband Gerald Mele, three sons Tony (Helene), Chris (Lisa), and Eric (Carianne) and four grandchildren are celebrating her life on Saturday, March 4th at 1 PM EST at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home 3362 North Highway 16, Denver, NC. 28037. Everyone who knew Myrna is welcome to see her pictures and share stories of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Myrna joined us in third grade and became a life long friend. We will remember her for her beautiful poems and many talents. She always put others first.
What a wonderfully, love filled, creative life.
39 and holding…perfect.
I’m so sorry for your loss Eric.
What a great life you shared with your Mom.
May your hearts continue to be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May Our Lord’s Christ Jesus’ promise of a resurrection, strengthen your hearts until the day when death is no more, and honest-hearted ones will see lost loved ones once again (John 5:28, 29). In the meantime, may your memories, and the love and support of dear family and friends comfort you.
